I have just taken part in a new swap.  The idea was that my partner sent me a pack of "goodies" and I had to make something out of them and send it back to her.  Here is what my swap partner sent me.
I decided that I wanted to something a bit different from just a canvas to hang on the wall so this is what I came up with.

This is the front of the piece.  It is attached to the canvas with gold ball chains and it lifts up.

This is the inside of the piece.  I added tags to put in the top pocket and made a small journal to fit inside the niche.

And finally here is the bottom of the canvas.  I used game pieces and upholstery nails to make feet.

I had a great time making this piece. I used every bit of the things that my swap partner sent me and obviously added some of my own bits and pieces.  It was a great challenge.

A tag I have just finished for a swap.  Theme was Collage and Zoo.

Pages from a journal I am working on.  This will be the first signature and there are three other signatures to finish.  They will then be bound into an old book cover.  Again lots of tags and other interactive elements with heaps of room for photos, memorabilia and journaling.

 

 

 

 

I am currently working on a new mini. It is based on a TP mini but I have used cardstock rather than toilet paper rolls as it allows me to make them a little bigger.  Once again I have added lots of interactive elements with pullout tags and lift up sections.  Here are the pages as they are completed.  Once completed I will bind them and make a cover.

I had a marvellous time in Wellington yesterday taking classes with Finnabair.  She is such a talented artist and a lovely person.  I have learnt so much in just one day and I must say that the kits we got for the two classes were incredibly generous.  Lots and lots of goodies and paper left over to play with at home.  The first class was a layout class and here is the result.

 

The second class was a grungy journal.

 

 

Loving the finished results and can see that this is something that could really addictive.  It is so much fun to do and Finn is a marvellous tutor. I would highly recommend her classes to everyone and I hope she comes back in the future.

 

 

This week I have also been involved in some ATC swaps and here are the ATC's.  The themes were sewing or haberdashery, What is Art and Cogs and wheels.

 

 

 

Well it has been a while since I managed to get time to update my blog but I have been making some bits and pieces.

I was intrigued by some small albums I saw recently d thought Iwould give it a try.  Here is the resulting book/album that measures finished size 2"x1" complete with tags and pullouts.  Kinda cute.

The next thing I tried was a toilet roll mini album. Ths one has pullout fold out tags, inserts, lift up and open out sections, spaces for photos and journalling. It is not yet completed but it is getting there and you can get the overall idea.

My next project was to use up some wooden coasters that I had brought from the $2 shop.  So I went with making them into jounal covers. I decorated them with vintage embossed card and die cuts and created a steampunk fairy for the front cover.  I am still considering how to bind the journals at this stage but the covers are complete.

And lastly for now I have been playing with Magazine Collage journalling. This was fun to do but I need more practice.

Today I had some time off  so I decided to enter the September Challenge at NZ Paperchase.  The challenge was to create an off the page item using the colour teal and utilising lace or ribbon of some description. This is what I came up with.
