Torso Book

Just a quick little project today.  A book made rom a recycled Huntley and Palmers Cracker box.

I covered the box with book paper and then covered that with brown pattern tissue paper. Once it was dry I painted it with Mahogany and Tattered Twigs Distress stain.

Once it was dry I added a gorgeous chipboard mannequin/torso From Imagine If NZ.
I painted this black then with Blue Patina inks.  I then added ac ouple of metal gears.

The closure for the jurnal is two picture hangers that I attached using brads on each side of the cover. I then made a chain closure using a lobster claw and added another meatl gear charm.

I sewed in 9 signatures, each containing 7 pieces of coffee dyed paper giving a total of 126 pages.  Some of the pages are paper bags which can used as pockets.

This was neat little project to make and I will defintely be making more of them.

  1. Very cool. I love using recycled papers and boxes and things, but mine aren't as elegant as yours. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!
